Fraud in Zaragosa Spain

A register such as this is sometimes necessary to protect other customers. I do not list someone here lightly, but if you fail to pay for an order or default on the signed contract for the sale, arranged via Scuderia Topolino, then you will identified here.

Fraud in Zaragosa Spain

Postby pheyden » Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:16 pm

Well, in more than 700 Ebay transactions over many years, I have now been defrauded the second time.

This time I bought a Fiat/Simca 5 speed gearbox from the French Ebay site. The item was listed as being for a 1000TC, but obviously this was incorrect from the photos. There was no reserve price, and I won the auction, as no one bid against me, for a reasonable amount.

The person selling the item, a Mr. Catalin Nicursor Vladut, turned out to be located in Zaragosa, Spain. He requested payment by bank transfer, so I obliged. I requested from my bank that I receive notification when the bank transfer was honored at Mr. Vladut's branch of the IBERCAJA, the bank where his account was held in Zaragosa. I did receive this notification, so I know he has the money.

As soon as the money was confirmed, Mr. Vladut stopped communicating and that is the last that I have heard. I have filed a complaint with Ebay, but as this was not paid for using PayPal there is little they can do. I sent a registered letter to the IBERCAJA bank, requesting that they confirm the existence of the account for Mr. Vladut and if it is still active.

I have provided the same information to the Zaragosa Police and to Interpol (as this was a cross-border fraud they have jurisdiction as well) in the hopes that it leads to something. I do not hold high hopes however.

Please find below the details of Mr. Vladut.

Mr. Catalin Nicursor Vladut
Ebay ID - salmer18
Bank Name – IBERCAJA
IBAN:ES42 2085 0123 3103 3036 5867

Obviously, the latin phrase "Caveat Emptor" (Buyer Beware) applies to all Ebay purchasers. I would warn all Abarth enthusiasts NOT to deal with Mr. Vladut.

Well it seems the guy has done a runner to Spain from France for some reason..He was registered on ebay for 2 years 2 months, but is not now registered!
Not very good feedback for a low count either!
There are similar ebay ID's too ..Perhaps in general it is a scam!!
All the same i hope i hope all comes together for you Paul and it is just a relocation bother on his part!
After nearly 40 years of Hillman Imps ,it so refreshing to start all over learning about another passion!
