Having another search and clear out to sell things for the never ending quest for funding our Motorsport programme ,i found a 1994 Brands Hatch programme!
I very rarely visit circuits to spectate ,but i remember this event well as it was a lovely day and at the time i had a TVR Vixen to which i wanted to see similar in competition!
In the Historic Saloons there was another interest -Hillman Imps!
Class E : All cars up to 1000cc consisted of two Fiat Abarth's ,one Ford Anglia 105e,and four Hillman Imps.
The Fiats were driven by a Lincoln Small(who appeares to have a Sports GT racer Abarth 2000 as well according to the programme) and Tony Castle Miller who i believe is the prop. of Middle Barton Garage.England. I remember peering under the hood of a grey example which was TBM and observing that it merely had a single d/d Weber ,,probably a 40dcd.
Although the Fiats were on the pace it is history i think that they went out of fashion in this country due to the quicker Imps...There are now 10 entered in this years Class E in the HSCC Saloon races.
Is Lincoln Small known to anyone on this forum?
Due to not being a anorak in following Motorsport races- what happened to the competitors and their cars!!
Come to think of it i do not know anyone in this country who competes with a Fiat!
